Start from zero, no catch-up needed
Every seat in the room is a first-timer. We build from the ground up: tiles, gameplay, and the flow of a hand, step by step.
Hands-on instruction the whole time
This isn't a lecture. You'll have tiles in front of you and guidance at your side from the very first round.
Leave actually knowing how to play
You'll walk out with a lesson booklet, your own NMJL card, and the confidence to sit down at any table.

Before you reserve
None at all. Mahjong 101 is built for complete beginners. We start from scratch with tiles, gameplay, and flow, and you will leave with a real foundation and the confidence to build on it.
Not at all. Most students come solo or with one friend, and every class is full of other first-timers meeting each other for the first time. That shared beginner energy is part of what makes the room so fun.
Just yourself. We provide the tiles, the current National Mah Jongg League card, and a lesson booklet to take home so the lessons stick after class ends.
Not at all. Every class has included at least one man, a husband, son, or friend who came along and ended up loving it. If you're curious about Mahjong, you belong here.
Full refund up to 72 hours before class. Within 72 hours, you'll receive class credit for a future session.
