The season
What is the Starlit Ladder?
If you have played a scramble, this is the same idea with a proper home. The Ladder is a season-long competition you play on your own schedule. You propose games and join games other players post, at Anissa's or anywhere you like, and every game you play is scored.
Two boards track the season. Points adds up your best two games each week, so showing up regularly pays off. Average is your season average once you have played six games, a truer measure of steady play.
Season 1 runs September 7 to November 8, 2026. It is free with an account, and the season closes with a gathering at Anissa's to celebrate the players who showed up.
A Ladder is play anywhere, any time, on your own schedule.
A League is one weekly session with the same faces, running half a year. Play one, both, or start your own.

Society Membership is $30 per month or $75 per quarter. It covers unlimited in-person Open Play at Anissa's Threadz. Non-members pay $20 per Open Play session.

Four Ladder seasons. Two League seasons.
Over the first year there are four nine-week Ladder seasons and two half-year League seasons, with two Ladder seasons running inside each League season. Season 2 pauses for a short winter break.

Yes. The app, the Starlit Ladder, Leagues, and any group you start are free with an account. The only paid thing is Membership, which covers unlimited in-person Open Play at Anissa's.

No. Competition is free for everyone with an account. Membership is only about unlimited in-person Open Play at Anissa's.
Hosted Mahjong at Anissa's Threadz in Tustin, currently Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Thursday at 11:30 am, and Thursday at 6:00 pm. Drop in for $20, or play unlimited with Membership at $30 a month or $75 a quarter.
No. Newer players and seasoned players sit at the same tables. If you know the basics, you belong here. If you do not, start with a class and come join us after.
Please do. Every member gets a referral code, and a friend's first in-person Open Play is $10 instead of $20 with your code.
